The Chen Art Gallery is a private, non-profit art gallery located inside of the world headquarters of Sunrider International and exhibits the personal art collection of Dr. Tei Fu Chen, founder and chairman of Sunrider International. A world renowned herbalist and pharmacist, Dr. Chen devoted much of his passion over the past 25 years into amassing one of the finest private collections of Chinese art in the United States. Open to the public since December 2000, the Chen Art Gallery’s collection is an impressive array of over 1,000 artifacts spanning 5000 years of Chinese history from the earliest Neolithic Era pottery to Ming and Qing imperial palace collections.
How to Visit:
Visits to the Chen Art Gallery are free and are open to the public by appointment. Visitors must schedule their visit in advance by calling the Chen Art Gallery at (310) 222-9192 or by calling Sunrider International at (310) 781-3808
All visitors will be led on a walking tour through several galleries of art by a complimentary tour guide. Tours last approximately 1 ½ hours.
Tuesday – Friday, 10:00am-4:00pm. Closed all major holidays and frequently in July or August for new exhibition installation.
Tours are offered in English or Chinese. Please specify language when scheduling your tour.
Before visiting the Chen Art Gallery, we recommend reviewing the following rules:
Children under the age of 10 are not allowed.
No photography or recording devices of any kind.
Cell phone use is not allowed inside the museum.
Food, drinks, and large bags are also not permitted.
Permitted: There are no benches or chairs inside the galleries so guests are recommended to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to stand and walk for 1 ½ hours. Visitors may bring their own wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and small folding stools.
